1st Safar 1426 AH: Tabarrah
All praise belongs to the Almighty [swt], the Master of the Universe.
After Kerbala, the trials and tribulations for Imam Sajjad [a] and the Ahlul-bayt [a] continued into the cities of Kufa and Shaam. Having brutally murdered the grandson of the Holy Prophet [s], the Yazidi forces made captives out of the dignified household of Sayyida Fatima Zahra [a]. Indeed, it was the Divine veil of Tatheer that provided the protection for the women and children.
How wretched were those who committed such crimes and oppression. The atrocities were of such magnitude, that when news of Kerbala spread in the Muslim world, the Umayyid dynasty started to crumble. Alas, Yazid [l] lost the dunya as well as the akhirat.
In order to ensure that Muslim Youths lead a prosperous life, and not go towards the Yazidi tendencies of hypocrisy, tyranny, injustice, and crime, it is critical that sustained curses be sent upon enemies of the Almighty [s]. According to the Qur'an and Sunnah, not only is one taught to praise, love, and glorify the Ahlul-bayt [a], rather one is also instructed curse and hate the enemies of God, past and present. Such teachings have come down in many forms including, ahadith, salutations, supplications, etc. One such passage is found in the Dua' for Children in the great book, Sahifa-as-Sajjadiyah, whereby Imam Sajjad [a] supplicates:
O God, be kind to me through the survival of my children, setting them right for me, and allowing me to enjoy them!
My God, make long their lives for me, increase their terms, bring up the smallest for me, strengthen the weakest for me, rectify for me their bodies, their religious dedication, and their moral traits, make them well in their souls, their limbs, and everything that concerns me of their affair, and pour out for me and upon my hand their provisions!
Make them pious, fearing, insightful, hearing, and obedient toward Thee, loving and well-disposed toward Thy friends, and stubbornly resistant and full of hate toward all Thy enemies! Amen!
Therefore, as we continue to mourn for Imam Husayn [a] and his noble family in these days of aza, let us ensure that we convey the importance and necessity of hatred towards the enemies of the Almighty [s] into the hearts of budding Muslim Youths. Only when they will hate the oppressors and the batil, will Muslim Youths develop the willpower to abstain from those deeds and ideologies that are associated with the tyrants. Surely, indifference on the issue of justice and oppression is not tolerated in Islam.
